Fourth of July Basketweave Cake: 3rd cake

Ok, so here is my 3rd cake. I had so much fun doing this one b/c I tried basketweave and really liked doing it. Mixing the colors to get a good red and blue was tricky b/c my buttercream was so white. I ended up using alot of dye. This cake was the my most delicious yet, tasted just like my wedding cake. It's a 2 layer 8in yellow cake with buttercream filling.

I first put the blue buttercream on the top and then I did the basketweave on the sides. I added the stars by using a cookie cutter to mark the cake. I then did the borders to finish it off.
