Meredith Kessler
Female, Age 31
Home: San Francisco
Challenge: to earn top placements as a new athlete to the pro level.
Background: Married and working full time at the Royal Bank of Canada, Meredith leads a very busy work, marriage and social schedule. Prior to coming to Matt Dixon and purplepacth two and a half years ago, she had already finished 17 Ironman races, with a best time of 11 hours and 22 minutes. Upon her initial arrival she announced that "she wants to be good"!
Strategy for Kona: Meredith has been smart with her training and she's willing to follow Matt's specific recovery philosophy, so she'll be fresher than people think. She can be strong in Kona, but for her, this is a celebration race to enjoy. She should experience the World Champs as a pro and go do as best as possible. She can be in the race.
Expectations: Meredith didn't have optimal leads in her 3 Ironman events this season, but she has already won! Meredith has had an amazing year and 2010 is a platform for her future career.
