The big problem with Dragon Age 2 is everyone played it expecting Dragon Age Origins 2, and flipped out whenever they changed any small part of the game. DA: O was a story about the Blight, where Dragon Age 2 was a story about Hawke and how he affected the world. Bioware presented a different way of telling the story, a revamped combat system, and much better voice acting...but all anyone can say is "lol it sucks! Give us DA:O3!!!"
This is why I hate the world...

Compared to DA1 there wasn't as much comic relief (either that or the jokes are not as good quality). I liked annoying Alistair... A bit of Schadenfreude is always good, until alistair started to take the lampooning personally. The DA2 characters weren't as interesting. I guess the only thing that got me so into DA2 was the fact that the first one was really good and I was quite stoked from it, reminded me of dungeon siege a bit.

@Mountandblandefan I enjoyed Dragons Age 1 even though it was simplified. After seeing all this never bothered with DA2.
I'll miss the Baldur's Gate series. Nothing like having to sit and think about magic battles. Anti magic shields, shield pierce spells, omg time stop, oh man those battles were so epic. Probably as close to pen and paper I've ever gotten. Now nothing can take more than one mouse click.
