  • I thought this song was silly first time i heard it but theres a married girl im falling in love with at work, and today i screamed with bruce 'and catch a smile that blows this whole fuckin' place apart' driving home.

  • Your post made me think of something someone once said, "In this life you will be able to chose who you love... but you will not be able to chose who loves you." Falling in love with someone who is married can be a very painful love... and cause many others even greater pain. I hope you will make wise choices.

  • I've heard a lot of criticism of this song, people wondering how the man who once sang about warm summer nights, dusty pick up trucks, switchblade lovers and scared, lonely girls ended up here. What everyone seems to have missed is that this song is still tackling a classic Boss theme. For the past 35 years Springsteen has taught us to look for love, beauty and adventure in the ordinary and unremarkable areas of life. The emotions and ideas of the song transcend the location.

  • I don't think people get the greatness of this song.

  • @bluesboy25000 I'm sorry to hear that, she's obviously a bitch. True and authentic devotion to love is very closely tied with the mysterious power of religious devotion, in my view. Both require - demand actually - pure continuous honest devotion to succeed in life. And each demands that personal ego-centered falseness continuously diminishes and that committed personal honesty and integrity towards the individual AND to the partner continues under the guidance of God's scolds, hints and nudges.

  • @bluesboy25000 Love is more powerful than any drug. Makes you loco, loco, loco, loco. I'm just waiting for the female robots to be invented. I thought they'd be here by now, along with the flying cars.

  • @tracianne77 That's the beauty of Springsteen, he sings about the forgotten man.

  • @OneFifthNative Trust me, I did this past semester of college. I thought we would be forever but she only wanted my brain and to use me. She broke my heart. Preach on Brother Bruce.

  • @wrightherewrightnow9 I think this is the perfect scenario for Springsteen. His songs were always tinged with a hint of cynicism that your dreams may not be fulfilled. These songs capture those people from Born to Run and Prove it All Night and Thunder Road all grown up and realizing their dreams are gone and they must resign to this mundane existence. Very existential. Nietzsche would approve.

  • This is one of his lovely songs

  • Falling in love with someone you can't be with is agony.

  • Time is a healer my friend, and there feelings have passed. Alot of it was to do with Christmas, and starting a new job at Christmas next to a beautiful girl... What a wonderful time.

Now I understand she is just a friend. Although we did walk home the other day.

  • hope your spelling improves by then. you do it yet?
