Commemorating those in the military, the Strasburg Railroad hosts a "Trains & Troops" event each year - they run a special freight train along with some WWII military reenactors.

  • If I were driving I would put it at 35 mph in 3 seconds

  • I'm not so sure I'd want to accelerate THAT quickly, buggiecar.

  • Whats missing is the military connection,They should get together with those who collect Military vehicles and put a couple of them on board as in ww2 they moved both troops and vehicles across the USA.

  • I believe they had done that in the past, I forget which year, but I remember seeing photos of a train consisting of #89, a flat car with a military jeep on it, a box car and two coaches. I wish they'd do that again. It looked sharp.

  • The footage from about 02:05 to 02:30 is especially nice as those those are angles of the Strasburg Rail Road not usually seen. The rest is mostly standard stuff but but mostly well lit. The only two real exceptions are the redundant shots of the drving wheels and valve gear and the back lit footage at the end.

As you have the ability to add titles, those not familiar with the Rail Road migt find locations supered over the footage a big help when they visit.

  • Thanks for the ctritique on the video!!! Really appreciate it!!!

Feel free to "critique" any of my other videos as well..

  • Is this the 12 inch hooter whistle on 475? It sounds a lot like 1218s!! Great vid!

  • Nice. Is she a decapod. there is one that should run by my house soon. Frisco 1630. She ran when I was little and scared the shit out of me on a runby.

  • I want to work here when I'm older!

  • You gotta' love the power of steam. Wouldn't mind working there.

  • 475 is now back in service! YIPEE!

  • Wow! look at 475 go in the 3:50's! She's really hustling in that time!

  • Me too, back. Let's talk about the 475. Why don't they leave the 12 inch hooter whistle (the deep toned one) on 475? it sounds cooler than the higher pitched one. But I still like it. Do you agree

  • I love the 475. Its my favorite Strasburg Engine.

  • Just call Me Gianni. (Pronounced Johnny)
