As an American, I'm unable to sign Brian's petition but I would if I could. It's dreadful to think of the unnecessary slaughter of these innocent animals. Keep up your advocacy, Brian. Right and reason are on your side.

Unless there is an activist on every field margin badgers will be shot anyway because in the countryside tolerance of the badger is wearing thin.

If it were so simple to stop a reduced population of infected animals to 0 infected animals might be arguable but killing almost every animal seems overkilling (because population will raise later), even if there were natural predators in the ecosystem, would they kill all those badgers "needed" to die? I don't think so, is impractical, why kill so many animals instead of an intelligent badger campaign to vaccinate them or something, it's disgusting to think otherwise that brutality is smarter.

Not all. Sure the Guardian readers in their townhouses in Hampstead Heath but those of us who live in the country and understand what badgers do know what needs to be done. Too many badgers at present and they are decimating the hedgehog population with no natural predator. Sad but something needs to be done. The cull in Ireland had huge beneficial effects.

I'm Georgian so I cant sign the petition, but I think I know more than 200 people, who would sign it. It's ridiculous, everyone answers the question: "WILL THE CULL HELP" with "NO" or "I'M NOT SURE", but they still keep on debating. Terrible. In my country, there are only few goats left, and the government is about to cull them. There are some people against it, but nobody says anything to them! In my opinion they're all cowards!
GO AHEAD BRIAN! SAVE BRITAIN'S WILDLIFE, AND THEREFORE - BRITAIN!
