Also what these assholes are totally not even comprehending is that the police are there to protect and serve people and property. The officers there have nothing to do with the corporate BS or policy-making that the protestors are bitching about.
@br4ve I never stated a side, and I'm not trying to justify either side's actions. I will say that to approach riot police in this manner is NOT a form of peaceful protest. The way they are protesting in these instances is not what the founding fathers had in mind. I am sure that there are instances in which the police over react, but with a lot of protests, people think that as long as they do not start physical violence, then it is peaceful, and they do other things to incite a reaction.
You know, I am part of the so called 99%, but the way these hippies are conducting themselves at these events is exactly why I do not support this cause
@Jttworek bullshit, the idea is to divide the people but you're all in this together against a rotten and corrupt system and you don't even realize it
@HeirsofRockefeller I'm just saying that "peacefully" carries a lot more weight than not just throwing punches. I'm sure the Founding Fathers meant that they shouldn't incite any sort of tension when they do assemble, and past Supreme Court rulings do not establish this as an explicit constitutional right with no limits. Assembly has to meet certain requirements, and these gatherings are now shifting to just producing a response from authorities so that Occupy can claim police brutality.
@HeirsofRockefeller This is not meant to be smart in anyway, but everyone outnumbered and surrounded the police as soon as they got there. Then with masks on, they start yelling and pushing at the cops. It seems only reasonable for the police to defend themselves. Whether their actions are right or not, protestors shouldn't provoke riot police who are trained to respond aggressively to keep a crowd in line, and not expect some response.
@davidray74 You're right tea partiers don't act this way. Nevertheless, they are as equally ineffective at getting things done. Both groups challenge the current power sturcture that is guilty of much. Our greatest enemy the Federal Government. And any appeals to them to correct themselves is futile. "..Power only begats more power and NEVER surrenders unto itself.." History proves that it must be taken. There will be no peaceful solution for either Occupier or Tea Partier.

@valdie91285 I had to go back and reread my comment... Thanks, but I prefer to think of myself as simply temper deficient. *shrug*
