Thousands of Scouts enjoyed Camp Lewallen for Boy Scout summer camp, beginning in 1936. The 580 acres include the Roy Jarvis Dining Hall, the towering Mount Logan, Scoutcraft, nature and voyageur areas. Our Trading Post overlooks the pool for you to relax and have a snack. You'll be able to swim twice a day and earn a few of the 24 different merit badges we offer. We will have campfires, a water carnival, archery and rifle competitions, the Mile Swim and the Order of the Arrow Call-out. You can hike through the woods and through the creek. Keep an eye out for the wildlife, turtles, snakes, raccoons, deer and more.
Is there a camp like this near Edmonton, Alberta?

We don't have "camps" in Belgium. We have to do ourselves in tents and simple logistics. It's difficult to describe how we consider scouting. But it's different to America. We have no nationalism, no military education or discipline. no older leaders who behave as schoolteachers. It's more a spontaneous youth thing.
Leaders cann't be older as 30.
But anyway : it's scouting !
Thanks for reply.

@ben8630 I haven't been to camp Lewallen, but I've been to a similar camp called S bar F (which is in the same area), so I can assure you that camps like this are far from boring! My troop had a great time. With everything from rifle shooting to a water park to a night in a makeshift shelter, there is always something fun to do! What are summer camps like in your area?

That camp seems very boaring. And teaching this young boys use fireweapons is typical american. Bad education !
