  • TheSRalston, no reset needed on the car, the reason you do a reset when you replace the battery is to let the car know the new voltage, as your old battery drains, the voltage drops, the modules in the cars adapt and take a lower voltage, when you replace the battery with a new fresh battery that has a higher voltage, a reset is required so the modules can know the correct voltage and amps, simple disconnect and reconnect is no problem.

  • Sorry for the stupid question. E90 battery has to be resetted when it is changed. You don´t have to do that reset process when you are simply disconnecting your own battery, do you? I had this doubt and haven´t found it anywhere. I would suppose that if the battery is the same, there is no need to reset the car system, since it "would feel" (for lack of better words) that the battery is the same and don´t need to change the charging intensity of it. Thank you!
