Agpeya during the Prayer Meeting

After the 2pm Conference, a small group of Young Adults gather for prayers for the Martyrs of Maspero, for the blessing of those who persecute, for truth of Christ to touch the hearts of all, for awareness of the dangers of radical and extremist islam and doctrin of islamification in Canada and all over the world, for moderate muslims to stand up against violence and persecution, for love to prosper in people's hearts, for comfort to the families of the martyrs (witnesses of the Faith), for guidance to government and leaders to embrace truth, for repentance and faith, and to trust God to fight the evil one. Amen.

TORONTO, October 12, 2011- Canada's Egyptian churches are standing in solidarity with Egyptian Christians, following attacks on Sunday which left 28 people dead and an additional 213 people injured.
The Coptic Orthodox Church has called for three days of fasting and prayer from all its adherents, set to begin on Tuesday. Toronto Coptic Christians will be participating in the fast, in the hopes of eliminating persecution of Egyptian Christians.

A group of Christian demonstrators were peacefully protesting last week's burning of a church in southern Egypt when they were attacked by the Egyptian military. The group demanded equality and protection of Coptic Christian places of worship when the Egyptian army fired live ammunition at the
unarmed demonstrators. The army also drove armoured tanks through the crowd, crushing the bodies of many demonstrators and leading to the critical injuries of others. Coptic Egyptians are the largest Christian community in the Middle East, comprising of 10 - 12 per cent of Egypt's population (87 Millions).
