My take on a 1943 recording by the Mills Brothers. I went through a period of listening to a lot of big-band stuff, and developed a genuine appreciation for music from that era. I tried to emulate the way Norman Brown, the Mills Brothers' talented guitarist, played this piece.

Recorded on a Boss BR-600 using a guitar, a bass, and three vocal parts. All parts were played and sung by yours truly. It's in the key of F. Feel free to sing along.

  • Nice version. I've seen the guitarist for the mills in one of the clips on youtube do a nice run at "I've just quarreled with Sue", I think it goes either: F Eb7 F7 Eb7 D7, or F Eb7 Aº7 Eb7 D7.

    Keep up the nice work.

  • Ah, another Norman Brown fan. I agree; he's great. I'll look for the video you mentioned.

  • This is a reallly nice song. You did a great job, and that guitar is cool. I just wish I knew the chords, and I would try it myself.

  • Thanks, Durey

Email me and I'll send you the chords. (My email is in my profile on my "channel." Roger
