Yes u.s. oil did peak in the 1970's hence the "oil crisis", fuckwit. try learning basic history.
tree huggers don't stop jack, just as protesters didn't stop bush's oil war and the murder of countless innocent civilians and the orchestration of 9/11.. but tree huggers stopped them? bullshit. these wasn't sufficient oil there to be efficient, they'll drill when they're fucking disparate.

Oil did not "peak" in the 1970's. There's plenty of oil, tree huggers just won't let us get or refine it. Other nations who are industrializing and have no environmental laws (China) are going to kill us economically and then we will have no power left to say "please don't drill that oil well," or "for goodness sake, stop eroding the atmosphere." All of which is fabricated anyway!

who says oil needs to be gone? even if there is 40 years of the stuff left it doesn't matter. PEAK OIL as in when demand out strips supply wreaking havoc. You seem to base all your opinions on the one side of "what it is best for the economy for me to believe, I'll believe."
And why is politics getting in the way huh? could it be (I'll just take a dumb guess) They want reserves? why - answer me that.
