USA: LAKOTA - MENDING THE SACRED HOOP
Black Elk, a Lakota Spiritual Man, described the effects of the Massacre of Wounded Knee as a "breaking of the sacred hoop". He also foretold of a generation to come who would participate in the mending of the sacred hoop. Could it be that the Lakota people who are featured in this video, along with others, represent that generation? Many believe so.
The Lakota people in this video live on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in the Southwest region of South Dakota. You will be privileged to hear them tell from their own heart, their experience of pain, healing, and hope.

EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD RESPECT AND HAVE TRUE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT OUR INDIGENOUS CULTURE CALLED ''NATIVE AMERICA''....FOR ONCE TELL THE REAL REASON WHY WE RAIDED WHITE SETTLEMENTS N WAGON COACHES BC WE WAS FIGHTING TO PRESERVE CREATION AND OUR WAY OF LIFE..THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ''BAD TRIBE GOOD TRIBE''..BC WE ALL HAD MAINLY THE SAME TEACHINGS N LIFEWAYS IN A DIFFERENT FORM...IF WE WAS SO BLOODTHIRST , WHY DID MOST CAPTIVES REFUSE TO LEAVE US?..WADO

I finished watching "Into the West" and I must say that it has truly opened my eyes. I do truly hope that the native cultures of America, can truly keep their heritage alive, and be prosperous, in their own ways. I now have an eagerness to really try to learn and understand Native Americans and their cultures. I have a profound respect for them.
