Tea plantations and estates in Bangladesh provide the leaves for many of the world's famous brands but growers say rising temperatures are affecting the quality of the drink.
Hundreds of thousands of people depend on the tea sector but if climate change is responsible for the hotter weather being experienced now - it is just a matter of time before these plantations disappear altogether.
Al Jazeera's Nicolas Haque reports from Sri Mongol, Bangladesh.

I saw a report just the other day that people in Bangladesh were dying becuase of freezing tempratures. It was disturbing seeing dead infants..
I didnt even realise that desh exported tea. I thought it was primarily for local consumption. I thoguht Sylhet tea gardens was the only major plantation..

Carbon dioxide supports all life on earth including yours

@imarketingprofessor Ecosystems cannot adapt to change as quickly as is currently occuring. Latest estimates of around 6 degrees C of climate change in the next century will leave these Bangladeshis under several meters of water. I suppose you want them to grow gills too.

luckily for the tea companies, most consumers won't be able to tell good tea from mediocre

increase production via modern methods and of course the quality will go down

This is a bunch of crap. The problem in Bangladesh is nothing with global warming. Bangladesh feeds illegal lumber trades. The huge loss of trees and native habitat has created a drastic loss in evaporation supported by trees. When the trees are gone the evaporation stops and the clouds go away. This is why every forest and habitat restoration project else where produces clouds moistur and crops.
