The "natives" never owned the land to begin with. No one did. You're forgetting that "natives" also slaughtered each other during territorial wars. In other words, they were battling each other for land also. Then the Europeans came along and beat the "natives.

This coverage also showed people that she was not qualified to be VP let alone a presidential candidate for 2012. Knowledge wise, they(media) learned from their mistake(Bush).
