Since when does 'chief' connote sexual preference? I don't know its colloquial history in your country (I would presume Australia, but you may be a transplant), but here it's just like saying 'man' or 'dude', except more dated. I just say it for the lulz. But seriously, how can those 9000 bracelets not be annoying to wear?

I don't know, they just aren't. I don't wear any anymore actually, but I wore bracelets like that for many years. Personal preference, I guess :)
