Clip of british gangster classic Dancing with Crime, Richard Attenborough who by this point in his career was somewhat of a british james cagney thanks to his other crime films The Hundred Pound Window, Boys In Brown, London Belongs To Me and Brighton Rock (Brighton Rock remains one of the greatest films and the finest gangster film in british history) here though attenborough plays a taxi driver out to bring down the mob who killed his brother and are using a dancehall as their headqaurters. shot durin the golden age of british gangster films (the late 40s a time that is comparable to the 30s golden age of american gangster films) the period is known as the SPIV CYCLE a series of movies about small time racketeers in post war england operating protection rackets drug dealing (see They Made Me A Fugitive 1947) and dealing in black market goods that were a shortage of in simular fashion to the botleggers of american gangster films. ***SUBSCRIBE***
