@mcnag Sorry to disappoint you but this bridge is completely French engineering, the company that determine the structure and patented building system is Eiffage (world leader) and two other civil construction companies on the podium are also French (Vinci and Bouygues). France is the world leader in civil engineering, design of tunnel, bridge, highway networks ect...our companies sell their know-how in the world and are recognized for their excellence.

damn. as much as we all talk shit about how arrogant and douchey french people our, they just shut us the fuck up with this thing didn't they?
-
@adamlewis934 you might have a point, but still it's not completely french
@shutdafup I think it took 3 minutes to cross it when I did it and I drove about 80 km/h ;)

Why can't these damn Brits pronounce Millau correctly? It's Mee-yoh, so easy a caveman could say it!
-
Designed by the French structural engineer Michel Virlogeux and British architect Norman Foster.
Now down below is why he built the Millau Bridge
since its inception the practice has received more than 190 awards and citations for excellence
and has won over 50 national and international competitions.
June 1999 that sir norman foster he was awarded the
prestigious 21st pritzker architecture prize laureate
– considered the nobel prize of architecture.
-
how can it be completely french if there was a british achitect that makes no sense
-
It takes 32 minutes to cross that bridge driving 100 KPH ? ... That don't seem right... It's not THAT long.
-
@mcnag French engineering. Leading architect was British but achitecture really has nothing to do with structure.

Thx for the vid.
But I hate how the journalist says Millau. He says something like Mi-low or Mi-law.
In reality, its Mi like Milk and yo like york (about).
Its a cracking bridge, it really is
