Barkworks Sells Puppy Mill & Dying Dogs- December 2010

This was the noisy end of another successful silent march on December 18, 2010 organized by the Companion Animal Protection Society (CAPS)- http://caps-web.org -with 130 animal lovers participating. We marched around the 3rd floor of the Westside Pavilion in Los Angeles where Barkworks is located, who has been found through investigations to get their puppies from cruel puppy mills. Our goal is to encourage Barkworks and other pet stores to stop buying puppies from cruel puppy mills that keep dogs in the harshest conditions, cruelly debarked, being bred until they are dead, never knowing what the ground feels like beneath her feet, only wire. Barkworks could thrive instead as a supply store/adoption center and have the admiration of the community instead of the disgust it has presently. Many dogs sold at Barkworks are very sick and die soon after (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xv-B9ZSyPI for example).

The march also makes a statement to consumers so that they can become educated about the misery the "puppy in the window" comes from.

i just want to also say this... after all the things i have been seeing lately it breaks my heart that the animals in the mills have no idea what you ALL are doing for them... i am amazed at your commitment and am glad i can say i am associated with people like you... keep it up, IT IS making a difference...

I was so glad to be a part of this it was AMAZING if people knew what bark works does then they would understand more......I'm glad we are making a difference this is nothing comparing to what these puppies are going through..we WILL keep FIGHTING for them until these stupid stores close.....Thanks for all who were there it looked liked we got lot's of support....

oh some people are so stupid - even if they could not understand what WE were saying they should have sense enough not to buy a puppy from a pet store.

These puppies are suffering and their parents are worse! The parents are freezing in their rabbit cages and forced to breed and breed -

Any negative comment on here is clearly from a BARKWORKS employee- they only hire uneducated people ...

I support this cause! Great job..I disagree with the person who did the comment below , I think the people in the mall could see what was written on the shirts..People like my self get curious on such noise in a mall and do take the time to read and look at the bags.. Great job !

Can't understand what they are shouting and what their T shirts say and what is on their bags. I'm not sure others in the mall could make out the shouting with the echo.
