@djmatz07 This is the Leeds competition of 2006. Kozhukhin won 3rd prize. He should have won first prize but that ghastly conductor Mark Elder brough the orchestra into the alla marcia section (6.15) at a ridiculously slower tempo than DK. I followed the whole competition and there was no doubt in my mind that DK was the best - he had not only musicianship and a huge technique but he had magic in his playing. My judgement has been vindicated by his winning the QE competition last year.
