This was long ago (60's & 70's) when FB's and LB's didn't weigh 240 to 250 lbs.

The song is just a back drop; it certainly has no other meaning. I remember reading a magazine article (S.I. perhaps) in high school (mid 70's) about the Cowboys, and that song was playing on the radio. The last picture in this video was in that article. Its crazy how episodic memory works...at least for me.

It was fun watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 70's. Those were great teams and times for football fans. Not a lot of other entertainment competition back then. Most folks just had a tv or two, about 2 or 3 channels, a stereo, and maybe a "pong" game.

  • I got to meet both Leroy and Donovan Mcnabb at the 2012 Senior Bowl Hall of Fame induction ceremony. McNabb was getting inducted and Leroy was introducing Dan Reeves (who was also being inducted...They are really good friends.)Got to talk to both and get my picture made with each. I have learned in life you have little windows of opportunity...so I took my window this time!!!!!!!!Glad I did.

  • @saltersweet1991 Cool!

  • I miss the old Cowboys players. They were so great. Back when the Cowboys were America's sweethearts of the field (yes, the players too, not just the cheerleaders).

I had a crush on a few of the players, when I was a little girl, watching them...God bless them...

  • Boy my friend. Did you ever hit the nail on the head. I thought Lee Roy Jordan was the greatest player ever when I was a kid, and now I don't think much different.

  • @LeanaJo76 You are obviously a lady of class and substance. Good taste is hard to come today. I miss these guys and what the game was all about.

  • Leroy Jordan wow . I met him working an executive protection detail and I was assigned to be his driver, what a guy ,saw some of his scrap book, man did they ever party then,of course smashing a beer can on your head could cost you since it was pre aluminium days,he had some permanently dislocated fingers, but helluva nice guy,as was Ed Jones. Class acts all the way.

  • Lee Roy Jordan is one of the most underrated linebackers in the history of the nfl if he can't get in the hall of fame then it needs to be burned down

  • Lee Roy Jordan is one of several cowboys who should be in the hall of fame. Charlie Waters, Cliff Harris, Harvey Martin, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Drew Pearson and Chuck Howely should all be in the hall of fame but sadly their not. Because these men made Americas Team what it is today.

  • why isnt lee roy in the hall of fame

  • Puddin' and ol' Double Nickel. Two classy guys.

  • The picture at 1:38 is one Bob Lilly took

  • @ehs54. I would say Chuck Howley.
