The styles are similar. Licks are very alike, effects used too, both can show real raw emotion. After all, Josh was John's student. They are very influenced by Hendrix and Slovak. John grew up at a different time, in different conditions and he's more experienced. That gives him some edge. I like them both as guitarists and musicians generally.
