@PetertTullamore-It's a long time ago now, but just for the record this is not in England but Ireland. I think its called Park coursing when a captive Hare is released in an area and once given a good lead the hounds are released after it. You can see they have muzzles on so the chances of a kill are virtually nil, normally the fence has a space along the bottom for the hare to escape back to the wild having 'earned' its freedom.
I used to attend the English form without fences before the ban
The release of the hares are over seen by WILDLIFE RANGERS......they are released back where they were caught from.....either that day or the very next day
@yuup83 the hares arent released back into the wild they r released back into the cages and they reuse them over again and the odd 1 they kill ive been at that coursing track i live in derby...
Coursing is much more natural than racing on an oval...these dogs were bread for thousands of years to do this very thing...if anything the dogs get more pleasure out of it than humans...and they are wearing muzzles...so I have no idea why you are disgusted by this...I watch it simply because watching a greyhound run is one of the most beautiful things in nature...
