  • Absolutely the unions are hating it too, but no job, no union. So that aspect has to come first. It already started, on the news the other day, Amazon said that if the P.O. does the 5 day work week, they are taking their business elsewhere, because they are used to having 6 day delivery for their products.

  • @32BigDave This is total garbage and you know it. We go to 5 day week and WHAT they do away w/ Annual leave? Look , the UNION hates this simply because it ,over time, cuts 1/6 of the number people they can collect DUES from. They don't give a crap if the PO goes under. If something like cutting Sat delivery(which is a loser for us financially and always has been) is going to be our demise do you not think losing $3 billion /yr will not put us under as well.

  • If the 5 day work week happens, I guarantee the instant demise of the Post Office. Simply, the post office runs because we have substitute/relief day carriers. By going to the 5 day work week, regular carriers WILL NOT be able to take off a day or call out sick do to the fact that sub carriers will have all but been obsolete. No subs= no days off for regualr carriers= poor(er) customer service and service failures= a spiral downward the tube of inevitable shit.
