Another beautiful song by the Iranian Rapper YAS about the famous Persian poet, Molana Jalal-e-Din Mohammad Molavi Rumi.

The intro portion of Dr. Naini in this video was taken from the Youtube user 'Molanaa' ( http://www.youtube.com/Molanaa ), thanks much.

The english translation of the lyrics is provided below:

Recorded in July 2007 (NYC)

*** Special Thanks to Paul Heck, DJ Kam, The Marksmen ***

RED HOT + RUMI

SOLH TOYI

You're Peace (Rumi)

It's just me -- and a sheet of paper

On the paper -- a pen

On my body -- my sweat

On my mind -- just one word

In my gut -- my goal

Let me go towards someone

That in this world has become an angel

Let me sing of the one

Who lives in a world without any borders

Someone who years ago searched for truth

In the language of Farsi

Now everyone knows -- women and men

That there is only one God, not two alike

Jewish, Christian or any Muslim

For all he was a soldier -- this man

100 times I prayed his name and spoke his name

His poetry translated in 100 languages

And now for me and you, he has become a symbol

It's been 800 years since you've been gone

But I still follow your lead and all your poems

Chorus: You're gone, but you know Rumi

That for us you have been the biggest of poets

Through the hardest time and all my pains

With your words you showed me that I can ...

And those days which I carry the weight of the world,

With your words I am intoxicated and high

I sing to you so know this, that till the day I die

Each and every word of yours will never fade for me

That YAS till his end will be indebted to you

For without you, will YAS have more stories to tell?

No, it's my affection for you that puts me up on stage

And now it's me up there and the skills I learned

(chorus)

You were someone whose each and every word

came from within your soul and now me and others

We sing your poems from within our soul

You're a symbol that never dies for us

The gardener of this garden of ours

It is this that pulls me to you

That you awoke and made so many people aware

Who read your books through their own language

And interpret love through the words you shared

I sing your name -- I say Molana Rumi!

That in the culture of peace you were always the lead

Your words and shine -- like a beam -- I follow

How ironic that this was your biggest fear, Rumi

To attach your name to just one nation (place you within a border)

Now you're gone and again enemies are plenty

Many on tanks and more on foot

But it's written on the dirt in Ghooniyeh (Rumi's final resting place) for all to see

That I too can be today's Molana Rumi.

You should remember that back then, "Tajikistan" did not exist, but rather the land that is now Tajikistan was a part of the Iranian nation. Iranians and Tajiks are of the same blood and culture, members of the same folk and family. "Tajik", as you just said, literally means "Persian". Molavi belongs to all Persian speaking nations, not just Iran and not just Tajikistan or Afghanistan.

    Dorood

  • Damet garm yas VA Dr. Naini for those beatiful words

  • Beautiful work and an inspiration ...i wish if all the Muslims and the humanity could understand the "burning" in love...as per Iqbal ..the national poet of Pakistan and lover of Rumi...

"Fakhteh Shaeen shawad az tapash zerr eh Bam "

The dove becomes an eagle by burning under a piller!

    Shad Bash Ya ESHQ!!!
