(READ FIRST) As many people speed model this video is a little different because I did not practice at all. I took my own picture for a reference and didn't study or practice it at ALL. This is uncut footage of my first attempt at modeling the object., I went completely by reference. This is challenging because I was timing myself and I had never attempted building this object, so I had to figure out on the spot how I was going to shape it and what was going to look the best. All in all I think the model came out great and it only took me 25 minutes. Total poly count was only 1,200 which is good for an oblivion like game model because they have a lot of detail and they're not your typical game object. If I worked in a gaming company and they put a reference sheet on my desk and wanted me to model it and I got it done in 25 minutes, that'd be excellent. Texturing doesn't take long so give or take 5 minutes.

It's intensionally not exactly like the Oblivion model because I still want this to be my own work. I only used the picture as a reference and changed it enough so it's still my work. That's why it's not perfect.

I'll release a textured version later, no one really likes watching someone texture...

  • goood done can you PLEACE give a link i wont to be a modder

  • whats your poly budget? he could have cut at least 150/200 polys out of the model. Esp. on the wheels, no reason to have 5 height segments if the geometry isnt going to change from one ring/loop to the next. also, back-facing polys on the spheres towards the end of the vid.

  • nice model

  • Perfect!
