  • this show was on the night i was born literally, because i was born at 8:48 EST

which Ontario falls under, so I was born somewhere around the first hour

  • Wow, Thats crazy...

I have the next 20 minutes of this concert uploading right now.

    Thanks! UW2

  • Watch at 2:17 when Ian stands up to walk off the spotlight. His flute drops to straight up and down, his profile hits perfect with his beard and his back is hunched. It's so cool and I remember it looking just like that when I saw it live I thought it just happened to look like that. But here it is again! So cool! 2:17

  • Thats awsome!

    Thanks for notifying...

  • @jferkfjkj HAPPY BIRTHDAY! What a cool story!

  • I saw this show twice on the '89 tour, denver and Phoenix (outdoors in december where Ian had to stop singing because of the cold!) The opening to this show was rather tame in comparison. The female sillouette models at both the shows I saw were a bit more risque!

  • Love this video

  • I saw them at RPI Arena in Troy, NY where they opened the US leg that year. It was probably the most "Rock" of all the Tull shows I'd ever seen. Hilariously tongue-in-cheek, Ian was in full performance mode that night. He knew Tull was an anachronism, but played the whole thing up anyway. Give the people what they want.

Some kid walking home alone afterward was yelling "I just saw Jethro (effing) Tull!" I laughed, because that could have been me about 12 years earlier.

  • I went to the show in Phoenix. I think it was the last concert of the tour. Ian Anderson was ill and the show was cut short. It was good while it lasted, but I think it was only about 45 minutes or so. Rock Island is an underrated album.

  • I saw this show in massachusetts, I remember Because i had a fever of about 102 But i went to the show anyway it was worth it .

  • Have they released any live videos from this era? This is fantastic, thanks for posting. Love the way it goes into 'Steel Monkey'. Nice rocker that one.

  • I Love to Play Steel Monkey Very Loud, and have people say turn that Down and my reply is why its not hard Rock .

  • Rock Island

  • I'm a STEEL MONKEY!
