This Yoga practice may help if you have a sleep apnea problem. Like other excersises, please consult your doctor before trying this technique. I have a low thyroid problem and this yoga practice has also help stablize my thyroid. Hope this helps
I would note to the poster "DudleyVaughn" that I am a sleep apnea sufferer and am extremely fit (not overweight at all) nor do I suffer from hypertension. Thus, while there may be some qualification as to the persons this is suitable for, I think that your reasons for removing are perhaps incorrect, or involving a broad assumption that all sleep apnea is related to hypertension.
This video should be removed in its current form for the following two reasons.
Firstly, sleep apnea has been strongly associated with both nocturnal and daytime hypertension. And, secondly, that yoga practitioners should "never practice the headstand (which one of the postures on the video approximates) if you suffer from high blood pressure" (Cheryl Isaacson, Yoga : Step by Step).
Thanks for this video. I dont think i have sleep apnea but i tend to snore because of enlarged tonsils. Not sure if this will help with that but no harm in adding them to my normal yoga routine anyway :D
The reason my professor suggested yoga exercises was to increase the muscle tone of my throat and neck, as a treatment for sleep apnea. The idea is that by increasing my throat muscle tone, I would be less likely to have that too full relaxation or my airway that causes the interruption of air experienced during sleep apnea. Do you have any other exercises that can help develop greater throat muscle tone? Thanks again for posting this video.
Thank you for posting this video. It was suggested to me by my biology professor that yoga methods may prove useful in treating sleep apnea. I was very happy to find your video which saved me time. Thank you again. (I deleted/reposted my comment to correct a spelling error.)
It was great to find this video. I think my migraines might be due to sleep apnea, and yoga and pranayama seems like a great way to deal with that problem. I'll do all of these exercises and see if they help!
I found this very helpful, informative.
