"Afraid of Falling" ~ LTAN (original)

This is one of the first songs I ever wrote as well as actually played for anyone other than my childhood pet cat. He was an excellent audience. :)

Afraid of Falling

it is the changing of the seasons that inspires me
and justifies my restless feet
keeps me looking forward to the next change of scene
the next undiscovered street
i wonder how you'll ever find me between the lines
beneath this thin disguise
where my insecurities play dark on my mind
where good intentions die

cuz im afraid of falling of missing the calling
of the changing season for a million other reasons

the only road i have not traveled is the one of love
without reason or rhyme
its an unmarked path of mystery i know nothing of
i miss that turn every time

to you i impart the truth of this heart
(my youth becomes the cost)
i must keep going all the while knowing
(i know that i am lost)

that im afraid of falling of missing the calling
of the changing season for a million other reasons

i wonder how youll ever love me in this fragile state
any reason a reason to run
or if ive walked along the line written by the book of fate
or if my head over my heart has won
i can only ask you now forgiveness as the sun will set
on another cold day
youll stand alone eyes wide looking for whats left
of us as i walk away
