At 5am this morning my darling Anise drew her last breath and passed away. Anise has been suffering from dental issues over the past couple of months which included a rather nasty abcess, she has also been on two lots of antibiotics and hand feeding of cc every day. Despite 5 dental treatments, the most recent being last week Anise still had trouble eating and couldn't gain weight, her spirits were up and down so she recieved loads of cuddles and attention and got to spend time with her sisters for part of each day. Anise was a fighter though and did her best to keep her chin up.
My daughter awoke early this morning and heard Anise making weird sounds so she woke me up and when she handed her to me I knew what was happening, she was limp and was having alot of trouble breathing so I realised something more was going on with her than just dental issues, what ever it was she hid it well. Despite her weight loss Anise was getting around ok up until last night when I saw her wobble a bit when she walked and she had slown right down, she tried to eat a little but wasn't able to as much as she normally did, she loved to eat corn so I made sure she always had a cob with her along with finly chopped vegies and cut up timithy hay.
Anise died in my arms and my kids gave her a cuddle afterwards. Until all of this started Anise was a very plump girl who certainly loved her food. For those that didn't know her Anise was rescued from a disgusting backyard breeder in 2008 by ACS Lakes shelter and came to live in Geelong through Mel Roadly who adopted her out to me when she closed her shelter ACS Geelong. I had Anise for 2 1/2 wonderful years and loved to have neck nuzzels with her, she was the most gentle natured piggy who never picked on or hasseled anyone. Anise was loved by all but developed an extra special bond with Lalique, Lucy, Buffy and Rosie I will never forget the joy she brought to me and it was an honour and privalige to have called her my guinea pig. You are with Ginger, Bonbon, Mouse, Roxy, Princess and Fudge now my darling girl rest in peace.
