No Sebastian no Spoonful, simple really just does not work sorry guys, its a little mundane

Fair comment, but my opinion remains the same, certain front men of bands simply cannot be replaced, John Sebastian was a good singer and songwriter, the sound without him sounds bland, could be any group up there, its a shame but thats the way I see it, if this was a radio show and you asked people from that era who was playing, they wouldnt have a clue.

I'd be interested in seeing the entire concert. Do they do "Full Measure"?

I personally prefer Joe Butler's singing over John Sebastian's. The tracks Butler sang within the band are among the most interesting and deep. Things like "Amazing Air", "Revelation: Revolution 69" and "Full Measure" are great. I rate them very highly. "Only Pretty What A Pity" I only recently discovered, via the video clip here on YouTube, and it blew me away.

I personally prefer Joe Butler's singing over John Sebastian's. I fell in love with "Full Measure" when it graced the radio here in Los Angeles back in the day and it has remained a favorite. It's just that Sebastian sang lead on most of the group's hits that people are familiar with. Those of us who probe a little deeper into the band's catalog know that Joe Butler has every right to front the band now. "Anazing Air" and "Revelation: Revolution" are two more

Thanks for commenting. Whatever you're opinion, these guys have a great sound. Laura (:
Joe Butler sang lead on some of The Spoonful's most interesting and deep tracks, such as "Amazing Air", "Revelation Revolution 69" and my all-time favorite Spoonful song, "Full Measure", which was a big hit here in Los Angeles. "Nashville Cats", the record's actual A-side, didn't get played here at all.

If you are familiar with the band you know that Joe Butler sang lead on a number of excellent tracks including 'Full Measure', 'Only Pretty What A Pity', and 'Never Going Back'. Fine vocalist in his own right.
