There's a couple reasons why I chose to record this song ... aside from the fact that it's an absolute gorgeous tune.

As some of you know, my guitars and other items were stolen. I lost my amazing Ovation, Fender strat, bass, HD video camera and more. It was devastating to me. I was left with just the guitar you see in this video and a few items. But the instruments I worked for so long to buy and used on many of the videos here on YT are gone. That broke my heart because I have a very strong bond with my guitars. If you go back and watch "You Could Break My Heart", you'll see the first video I did with the Ovation and I was so proud of that guitar. Well somebody thought they deserved my guitars more than I do, that they could do a better job playing them that me.

So in a way, this is a song saying goodbye to my Ovation and my Fender ... I know it sounds corny, but that's how I feel. I loved them very much. You can see the empty guitar stands in the background of the video :(

I also recorded this song because I love my wife so much! Although I will never say goodbye to her, will love her forever ... I wanted to sing this for her. It's a beautiful song and I know she will like it. And she's going through life with me. She gives me the strength to keep recording after the robbery and she pushes me to never stop trying and never stop loving.

There you have it, friends. Love and loss all wrapped up in a gorgeous song by Edward Bear. The video quality is less than usual since my good video camera was stolen and I'm using a cheaper one. But I'm hanging in there.

Thank you for your support and comments on my singing. It means the world to me.

Your friend,

Elliott

  • @terrisonb Sorry for the late reply. Yes, sure is a great song from a great time period in music. Thanks for your comment and for relating about the robbery. it does suck doesn't it. I'm still completely blown away by the loss of my Ovation and Strat. I can't replace those (financially and emotionally, to some extent). Wrote some of my fav songs on them. Not to mention the cost. Anyhow, appreciate you coming by my channel.

  • This is really a great song. I have loved it since the first time I heard it in 1972. I can also feel for your loss, my house was broken into a couple of years ago and the lowlife thievs took things that can never be replaced.

  • @suel96 I know, isn't it great? I just love songs like this, don't hear them much anymore. Thanks very much for stopping by and leaving me a comment.

  • still love that song
