This is an animation showing how you might build the locket that appears in the film "The Illusionist". CAUTION! This is not a workable plan to build the locket, just a theoretical one. If you want to build it, google around, you'll find workable plans.

  • The oddest thing to me is how aggressive people get in their responses.

  • So how do you store a photo in it without cutting it in two????????

  • @mickf479 Cut the photo in two...

  • Two words: Occam's Razor.

  • @mickf479 I guess you could put 2 small photos in it... one on each side of the heart in the 'humps'. For instance I have 2 kids, I could put My son on one side and my daughter on the other...

  • This is well done, but as a CC (constructive criticism), I'd say people like me who aren't as used as you to these kinds of programs, have a hard time picturing how the components you're showing work in action. I think I got a grasp of how the locket works, but it would probably have helped if you had unzoomed a little more, and showed the whole locket while in the switching action, as half of the locket remains transparent.

  • How is the picture stored inside without being ripped from capsule to heart?

  • so complicated

  • ur awesome !!!! thanks !!!!!!

  • i said WAT THE FUCK i mean 0:09 how can you cut it and cut the middle of the heart and how can not the other piece of the heart fall down SMART ASS

  • @sillymonkystudio thnx buddy lookin forward to ur video ...hope it comes soon ....m very eager to build one on my own

  • Ultimately i knew my design is true, because the order for extrusions or grooves is like finding dominate or recessive genes in a trait.. You have the order as follows RR Rr rR rr, all four cases are covered... its quite hard to explain without my drawings... hopefully will make a video or submit my pictures... If anyone is determined and willing.. i will gladly share my full design in hopes that they can make one or more and at least send me one... I have no means to make one right now.
