Hi Jim, I just had a quick question. I have a DPMS AP4 LR .308 with a carbine length gas system. I'm worried about moving parts breakage because of higher port pressures. Is it worth investing in a mid length upgrade to preserve internal parts life?

Tasco scope, Why didn't you put a real scope on it ?

@nicenred1 you can change out a short .308 barrel for a long one,but no you cant change barrels of different bullet sizes they will not match up properly.

How hard is it to install a Larue free float handgaurd on an AR10?

i just bought this rifle,love it!
my question is on picking a scope for it.i am curious how far out the rifle is accurate so i know how powerful i need a scope?
i really dont want to just get by with a scope,i'm really ok with spending a lot on a scope i just dont see the reasoning in buying a good rifle like this if i don't put a scope on it that will reach it's maximum range,but what is about maximum range for this rifle?thanks.

@metubemikehunt2 The rifle is very capable of making shots in excess of 600 yards. Much farther in the hands of someone that has been trained, of course I would not advocate shooting an animal at any of these distances.

got a quick question I ordered a ar10 a4 except its a m4 version can you change the upper reciever example 5.56 to 6.8? and where can you find extended mags

@nicenred1 Yes I can change the uppers. There are lots of places on the internet and elsewhere to find mags, Brownells and Midway are two of the biggest. You can also find uppers, bolt, carriers and any other part there.

Yes how can I have a scope AND still be able to use the iron sights that come with an AR?
Thats my question. I'd like to have a scope along with sights. Can that be done?

Brownells has over 2800 items listed for AR 15s this leaves almost 9,000,000 combinations. If you have a flat top upper it is as simple as using a tall see through scope mount. But with so many configurations each case is individual.
