I honestly felt the same way, the first one is the toughest read (ironic considering its the shortest of the series.) the second one is phenomenal and eventually the first makes a lot more sense, totally worth reading.

to be honest, i can't get through the 1st one. do they all 'read like that'? it's just... not capturing my attention like I think it should - I mean, they've all been raved about but i'm just "Blah" about it so far.
