The teams botanists demonstrate how they identify, collect, and prepare the staggering variety of tropical plants—including species new to science—that were found during the survey. This is the sixth installment in a ten-part series of video reports documenting The Field Museums expedition to the Amazon lowlands.
The Museums Rapid Inventory Program brings together biological and social information to create a roadmap for practical, long-lasting, and locally-supported conservation. During October of 2008, an international team of scientists led by Dr. Corine Vriesendorp of The Field Museum surveyed the Cuyabeno-Güeppí region of the Amazon Basin, which sits at the corner where Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia meet.
