I'm surprised they mentioned exiling it while the persist trigger is on the stack instead of just using a card like unmake to exile it in the first place.

i havnt seen magic in a while, stoped collecting as i had nobody to play with , but this new set looks fun

i love the wither deck where you can move the counters so persist is even better and also grim poppet with torture

in the video it shows safehold elite as a 2/2 so in that case it would work? i guess i'm wondering if the -2/-2 from infest still affects the persist creature after it returns from the graveyard to play. i'm pretty sure the drove of elves would die when they first go into the graveyard but not totally sure.

No I don't think so. Safehold Elite is a 2/4 and Drove of Elves will be a 3/3. Safehold will be a 0/2 and Drove of Elves will be a 1/1 if you cast an Infest.

so, if my opponent has two safehold elite's in play and one drove of elves, if i play an infest, would that create a dominoe effect killing all three creatures?

If you have a Juniper Order Ranger in play then it effectively cancels out the -1/-1 counter, although that card is from Coldsnap.
