Mayor Mike Bloomberg wants to make massive cuts in public safety. Mike Bloomberg wants to cut the fire department"s budget 2.7%, lay off 3,150 cops, 7,000 teachers. He wants to cut the education budget $493 million. Lay off 7,000 teachers. Mike Bloomberg is not pushing for reinstatement of the commuter tax which will soften the impact. The city with this could send funds to the MTA, to prevent transit service cuts from taking place. Mike refuses to do this = the people of New York City screwed. Mike Bloomberg spent to the tune of 2 million dollars hiring his campaign staff, which included Howard Wolfson, who headed his 3rd Mayoral reelection campaign. New York City Council should unvote the pay raises, they gave themselves. Self serving politicians. The slush fund could go to the fire department, to prevent most of the cuts there from taking place. Mike has spent 110 million on special interests, patronage hires. Gave excessive raises to get votes. City executives should take a pay cut. Layoff half of the office staff. The 50% kept should be only the most essential of them. With reinstatement of the commuter tax, the City could increase aid to the MTA to prevent transit service cuts. Not have to make massive cuts in public safety, education. All Mike Bloomberg has do is ask the University of Pennsylvania for money. They have a billion dollar endowment. And they are already using NYPD police officers to harass their employees. There is a VOID in leadership at the University of Pennsylvania.
