1982) Music video director Russell Mulcahy, who had directed the band's first video "Planet Earth", was brought back to make the music videos for "Hungry Like the Wolf" and several other songs for the band's ambitious 1983 video album. The band had a vision of jungles and exotic women, and Mulcahy suggested Sri Lanka, a country he had just visited, which had the advantage of being inexpensive. Keyboardist Nick Rhodes remained behind to finish the mixing of the Rio album while the rest of the band began filming in April; Rhodes flew straight to Sri Lanka after handing over the final masters to EMI. The video was lush and cinematic, with shots of jungles, rivers, elephants, cafes and marketplaces evoking the atmosphere of the film Raiders of the Lost Ark, thanks to the enviromental advantage of Sri Lanka. The storyline reflected the lyrics "I'm on the hunt, I'm after you," featuring singer Simon Le Bon pursuing a tiger-like woman from parties in the city through obstacles in the jungle, culminating in a final chase and struggle in a jungle clearing. In the meantime, other band members hunted for Le Bon. Les Garland, senior executive vice president at MTV, said I remember our director of talent and artist relations came running in and said, You have got to see this video thats come in. Duran Duran were getting zero radio airplay at the time, and MTV wanted to try to break new music. Hungry Like the Wolf was the greatest video Id ever seen. "Hungry Like the Wolf" was #11 on the century-end MTV "100 Greatest Videos Ever Made" and #31 on the "VH1: 100 Greatest Videos". MTV also named "Hungry" the fifteenth of their most-played videos of all time. ___________________________________ Duran Duran are an English rock band. They were one of the most commercially successful of the 1980s bands and a leading band in the MTV-driven "Second British Invasion" of the United States. Since the 1980s they have placed 14 in the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart and 21 in the Billboard Hot 100 and have sold more than 70 million records. The band was created by Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Stephen Duffy, with the later addition of Roger Taylor, Andy Taylor, and (replacing Duffy) Simon Le Bon. (None of the Taylors are related.) The group has never disbanded, but the line-up has changed to include guitarist Warren Cuccurullo from 1986 to 2001, and drummer Sterling Campbell from 1989 to 1991. The reunion of the original five members in the early 2000s created a stir among the band's fans and music media. Andy Taylor left the band in summer 2006, and London guitarist Dom Brown has been working with the band since.

A great song, one of the best songs of the 80's, but absolutely one of the best music videos ever conceived. It's like a little, four minute feature length movie adventure. It's exciting, it never gets old or boring. It's like a time capsule of its era. The 80's were a wonderful time! So much creativity in music, videos and television. Thanks for posting! :^)
mmm, el SYNTH POP , deriva del NEW WAVE, el cual este ala vez tiene sus origenes en el ROCK, la banda incluso en sus entrevistas se catalogan que llevan un genero de ROCK.
