You can throw out all the quotations and sources that you want but Sir Paul has said with his own tongue that he wrote it for his wife...whatever else people want to say...well...whatever...he knows why he wrote it and it should be left at that.

no apologies given :)

Just a clarification -- I don't claim to know exactly why McCartney wrote it -- though wiki says it was in response to the American civil rights movement in the 60s -- but he wrote it in 1968, more than a decade after the Little Rock Nine incident. So I don't know that it's origin was tied directly to LIttle Rock.

It's written for Little Rock Nine. He said this at his concert 9 december in Holland.

Why do you keep replying to me with that? I can read. Do you think this upsets me? Well Let me tell you I'm Native American and I think my ancestors had it a little rough also. Just because Paul Mcartney said that the song was written for Sarah McLachlan doesnt literally mean such. Are you really that slow to not understand he was complimenting her and didnt really mean it was written for her. It was a figure of speach. Im sure she was a child when this was written. Now please go away.

Look ...cut the bullsh*t....I still have your original statement that you deleted from this page. I originally posted that this song 'Black Bird' was written for Black people and for black girls in particular....YOU chose to respond with a fallacious comment of your own saying..."No that's incorrect... he wrote it for blah blah blah.....I saw it in an interview"......your words. if you wouldve kept your ignorance to yourself we wouldnt be having this conversation. Learn the virtues of silence.

Man you have no life do you?I never said that was incorrect Blah blah blah also I already retracted that statement. Just read what I wrote about me being wrong. I said that it was a statement made from Simon Cowell that I saw and it wasnt actually an interview, but upon reading up thats when I deleted my comment. The comment was only up for thirty minutes or so. You must be a really angry person to blow something this small into a big something. Man, this really is a peaceful song you know?
