Demo of 1997 Korg Z-1. All sounds programmed by WC Olo Garb. Video editing by WC Olo Garb. ||| Syntezatory.prv.pl Videos: showing you not what a synthesizer can do, but what a man can do with a synthesizer.

Note that in some patches I use aftertouch (the force applied while depressing the keys as a modulation source) - that's why the sound changes even though it seems that nothing is really being done to the synth in terms of control.

  • after owning two prophecies i've really come around at my old age to get a z1. this is a real synth with real dynamics in sound. thats why its so ugly looking, korg didnt give a shit about making it pretty, just about the sound it could make.

  • I've got one and it´s a fantastic machine even after 14 years. A classic

  • 03:34 OMG!

  • men your videos are so cool!!!

  • @KaslarProductions: If I had 700 Euros I would buy a Z1 myself without hesitation. But till I got the money my Prophecy and 01/W have to suffice :D

Believe me, you make me jealous, lucky you!

  • @albedoshader Oh you're right.. oops, I failed to read the name.. Sorry... Thanks for your help...

  • @KaslarProductions: This isn't my video :D But I'm glad to be of help.

  • @albedoshader Thnks for the comparison. I found a z1 on craigs list for $600. I think I'll get it... and I love your videos.

  • @KaslarProductions:

The obvious strength is that the Z1 has more voices :)

And the Z1 has additional synthesis algorithms.

The Z1 has a similar sound structure as te Prophecy but it sounds "colder", more hi-def and cleaner, the filters are different and the envelopes behave differently.

Best is to have both, of course.

  • Am I correct in saying that this keboard is the same as a Polyphonic prophecy? What are its weaknesses to the prophecy and what are the strengths?
