    The whole "a kid/I could do that" argument against modern art really bugs me. I understand where its coming from but still...

    First, even if you could, you _didn't_. Being able to do something and actually doing it are very different things. Second, art has been at a point where technical skill is no longer the end all be all. Art is heavily intertwined with intellect and conceptual problems...It's esoteric and inaccessible & I would say _that's_ its problem more so than the lack of skill.
