Love this.

well done! But you probably might pay attention to your intonation in the middle and high registers. You could do it better in dynamic nuance.Personally the acoustic of english horn can be adapted in saxophone more or less in this piece !

You did a lovely performance on a very difficult piece.

You did a wonderful job! thank you!

What's even more interesting is that Copland wrote part of the Appalachian Spring on Carter's dinner table!

Beautiful music!

Thanks for playing this and putting it up here.
The first time I heard this piece I didn't hear the title, and assumed it was called something like "Variations on Copland's Appalachian Spring by Elliott Carter". Imagine my surprise when I discovered that Carter wrote the Pastoral 4 years before Copland wrote Appalachian Spring. If you haven't noticed it, play them back to back, and see how Copland borrowed themes from Carter, not the other way around.

"in the asbestos-filled orchestra room"
Ha ha ha!
Nice job nonetheless :)
Isn't this originally for English horn. Sounds great anyway.

Yeah, it was originally written for English horn. When I got the music it included arrangements for viola, A clarinet, and alto sax too.
