true beauty if in the heart, and nuzrat fateh ali khan had alot of it. Only people with love for god in their heart can be this beautiful.

..they'll both take you to the same sacred source of all things good, where you don't have a choice but to be honest with yourself. We're all one in that place, no colors, no borders, just plain shades of beautiful energy embracing everyone equally. Love and peace to you all.

My respect to the Ustad. May he rest in peace. Secondly, all you people bickering are a disgrace to his memory. Music brings people together. Celebrate and share the differences instead of being arrogant about them.
I salute Derek Trucks, who's a gifted, learned and very skilled musicians in his own respect, for paying homage to Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali. How many musicians from Pakistan itself can claim to have done anything similar?
Listen to both versions with closed eyes and an open heart....

I am not bashing Pink Floyd, I think they play good music, nothing extremely special just good music, I just said it as according to my observation it seems to be a prevalent band amongst yuppie pretender. And no I don't consider myself lucid, just 13 year olds can be lucid.

Haha... great argument you have here. The only point you have made is my lack of appreciation for this music. Yet all you've done is swear and insult me. Then you bash a band like Pink Floyd, and completely contradict yourself! You consider yourself lucid? Seems to bother you more than me. So, who cares. Drop it, and I hope you feel better about yourself.
i can't see drivenut4's original comment. Here's the deal guys. Pink Floyd was epic but you cannot feel music till you've lived it... you can't feel either of these forms of music unless you've lived in the culture.. stop bashing each other. Derek Trucks uses a slide to play countless notes along his guitar while Nusrat could ride a song with his voice as an instrument. Sahib teri bandian... this is a song of devotion, love and happiness. say no to hate. please. live and let live. Peace

i think it's pretty amazing how Derek Trucks was able to make such a great adaptation of this song! it just shows how much he can actually do with slide guitar. i definitely think he does this song justice
