Yes, its American Ethnocentrism. Another example is the big deal Americans made over an Australian KFC ad a couple of years ago because it had black people and fried chicken in it (the horror!). Of course there's no such racial stereotype in Australia, but that didn't stop them imposing their own racial neuroses on everyone who doesn't even know what they're talking about and insisting that in a country where no such racial slur existed, their views should be imposed on us.
