I managed to find another episode for Saban's Adventures of Oliver Twist. Luckily its the second episode! Again based very loosely on Charles Dickens classic in a lighter tone for a kids show. This series is not to be taken as a literary alternative.

Very impressive character designs and marvelous voice acting. One of my favorite anime voice actors, Mona Marshall, provides the voice of Oliver. Televised the same time American Tail Fievel Goes West was released. This series is not yet on DVD. Hopefully this will spark interest in a DVD release.

  • It's released on DVD in the UK with a DVD of five episodes. However the DVD is now out of print, but there could be a re-release. Yep Mona was Oliver and Barbera Goodson (Rita Repulsa in Power Rangers) is the voice of Dodger.

  • Thanks! I hope to come across a copy of it. I think my Unc had an import copy but lost it. Oh well, if its one obstacle in playing the UK DVD is the PAL and the other is the Regional coding! Well, basically I still hope for an North American region DVD release of the series. I mean, every cartoon series are starting to have one. Even Sam & Max! Yep, Mona Marshall and Barbara Goodson are awesome!

  • PerfeCT!thanks!

  • Kite!

  • There are torrents available of a DVD release with all the episodes. It is only in Russian though, so perhaps there will be a full English release someday.

  • I hope the remake "Oliver" the musical, you know, the one with Jack Wild.

  • Hey, Oliver!

  • Mona Marshall = Izzy Izumi!!!

    Awesome

  • old times =D

  • girls played the boys? god

  • Most modern DVD players nowadays can play both NTSC and PAL, my DVD player from Bush does. It's the region coding more then anything else, but some websites will have codes to make DVD players multi-regional. The disk itself might still be found on eBay and there are some used/new copies on Amazon's UK site. Personally I'm waiting for this 3 disk set that Jetix Films/ Maximum Entertainment might hopefuly release soon.
