@MrTommyheddenstomboy i saw this movie at the drive in. i don't remember the name of the movie. later that year we went to ottawa canada and in the paper we saw that waylon was appearing in a little bar called the chamberlin room. went to see him and was mesmerized by the music. you knew he wasn't going to be doing little bars for long.

I was tommyheddenstomboy. My Dad is in the Country Music Hall of Fame & Honor & he had a 45rpm of this song. I use to play it all the time. My Dad had many promos from others i will not name. I didn't no that it was on a soundtrack for a movie only what promo my Dad had.I was a teen in the 70's when I 1st heard it. I knew alot of people. Ask Ray Stevens who I am. I could go on but music is like religion that I will not argue w/ peeps. Im a gal not a man..get that right plz.

Green River, along with a few others are all from the movie Nashville Rebel (1966) The
sound track was available on vinyl LP

sound track of the 1966 movie called "Nashville Rebel" which was available on vinyl LP.
Silver ribbons, Steel rail blues,If you see her,Nashville rebel ,Nashville bum,, and an instrumental version of Norwegian Wood also from the movie.

From my understanding this only came out on a 45rpm...I believe it should be put on a Greatest Hit's Album! Great Song & Singer love Waylon!
