Four steps to cleaning mussels. A little fuzzy, but it was my first attempt. You'll get the point.

  • Terrific music!

  • to de beard them. 1 take a cloth grab the beard and wiggle it out. 2 in a fast motion pull towards the back of the shell (Not the front!) get a metal srubbie to clean. a butterknife takes the barnacles off no fingers those barnacles can give you a pretty mean cut if your not careful . 30 minutes before you cook get a large bowl and put cold tap or salt water (better) leave the mussels in there they will spit the sand out. pick them out !do not pour them out (sand at bottom) when ready to cook

  • i like the song

  • Thanks for the video! I'm a culinary student with a cooking practical today. Cleaning mussels is one of the tests and I had to review the process because its not one we often do in class. Thanks for the help! Also, great soundtrack. =)
