My dad taught me this spiritual when I was very young. He learned it serving alongside black servicemen during the 2nd World War. During the 60s it was used as anti-war song. The song points out that Christians forsake war when they follow Christ.

  • I was in an interesting mood and gave it a blues twist. The first chord I play is a E7 played like a C7 but on the 5th fret. The whole thing is played in the key of E. With a lot of modified chords.
