Yes, that would make them Argentine-Syrian Jews or Mexican Syrian Jews. Jews whose families have lived in Syria have maintained traditions and customs that they seek to preserve whether they live in the USA (NYC has a a huge Syrian Jewish community), Jerusalem, Mexico City, Panama, Buenos Aires, Montreal or Paris. I'm very sure they would not want to move in Afghanistan--it's not known as a hospitable country to Jews or other non-Muslims. There's exactly one Afghan Jew left.

If you go to the Midwest states, such as Minnesota, people there are often proud of their Swedish or other Scandinavian heritage--what are you talking about? I grew up in NYC though, where people of all backgrounds took pride in their ethnic heritage. Who says Iraqi Jews are seeking sympathy? You speak as if it's a disabilty. Iraqi Jews are proud of their ancient heritage

@OrdNaor Look at yourselves people. You want super-hyphenated labels, you want respect and love, you want the world's sympathy and attention and boy you folks have got that for sure. And you claim to want peace but look at you, you can't even get along with one another. I don't think the situation since WW2 has been racism or anti-Semitism, I think (at the risk of being called anti-Semitic myself) that you folks are a bunch of cranky malcontents. You'd complain with a tit in your mouth.

@ShmorgelBorgel So my friend, that would make those people Argentine-Syrian-Jews and Mexican-Syrian-Jews? I can only pray none of those people move again to a five syllable nation such as Afghanistan. Whoaaa...

My friends, it becomes so wearisome to have this unfortunate history occupy so much of the entire world's time and mental energy. My ancestors on both parents side come from Sweden. Some of my family came to the US early in the last century, some are spread over Europe and some in Canada. You never hear Swedish immigrants say they are Swedish Canadian, Swedish German, Swedish Israeli or constantly seek attention and sympathy. Don't you ever tire of it? C'mon folks, give it a rest please.

I don't justify Mr Naor's bigoted or coarse language, but the fact is that the vast majority of Iraqi Jews actually do identify with Zionism, like most Mizrahi Jews. A few Jews in Iraq were active in the Communist party, others were Orthodox traditionalists, but most were pro-Zionist. Bizarrely, I see all over the 'net propaganda from Zionist detractors that depicts Zionism as an exclusively Ashkenazi phenomenon, but the fact is that the vast majority of Mizrahim are pro-Zionist.

I knew about the large Iraqi Jewish communities in the States, UK, Canada (I guess I've heard of Iraqi Jews in Australia too) and of course Israel, but I didn't realize there were significant concentrations in Latin America.
I know Argentina and Mexico have big Syrian Jewish communities--but didn't know about any Iraqi kehilot there

I never realized that techno music would unite all Iraqi Jews.

1. I'm not a Jew. 2. Apart this I can't read your word. Excuse me, can't you translate to Human Languages?

I'm sorry, you're a Zionist Jewish scumbag, pathetic swine.
Zionism is not a religion, just so you know. It's a political ideology. Shows how smart you are, pathetic bitch XD
Unlike the pathetic European Jews and the Euro-American Zionists, who made up this lie with overwhelming evidence called the Holocaust to elevate the momentum of Zionism, at least some Iraqi Jews have some common sense not to buy into this bullshit. Jews, I got no problem with. But Zionists, they can all go to the furthest reach of Siberia and freeze, Jew or not, Zionists are a plague: deceivers, power-mongerers, murderers.
